Worker's Compensation

Nothing makes us happier than forcing an insurance company to write a check to you.

If you have been hurt at work, you are probably worried about your future, and unsure what to expect.  The rules are complicated, and unfortunately, once you make a worker’s compensation claim, you become a problem for your employer, and you have to face an unfriendly insurance company.

At Driscoll Law, we know the insurance company’s tricks, and we know your rights. We stand up to the insurance companies, and get the best possible settlements for our clients.

Companies purchase worker’s compensation insurance so that when an employee is hurt, the insurance company pays for the injured worker’s medical bills and a percentage of the employees weekly pay while they are out of work due to the injury.  This system was designed so that when employees were injured at work and unable to keep working, they would not simply be fired and lose everything.  The system was actually designed to help injured workers, and to a large degree it does.

The problem, however, is often the insurance company.  As you will likely learn if you are injured on the job, insurance companies don’t want to just give you money.   Worker’s compensation insurance companies, like most insurance companies, want to pay you as little as possible.   If you are hurt, and you can not get back to work, they might begin to suggest that you are faking it, or exaggerating.  They might hire their medical “experts” to give opinions that you aren’t really hurt that bad.  They might send a private investigator to catch you mowing the lawn, or carrying groceries into the house. They generally will try to find a way to stop paying you.

The average person stands little chance on his/her own of getting a fair result in the worker’s compensation world. If you are hurt and can not return to your job, you need a lawyer.

Give as a call, it is a free consultation.  If you hire us, it costs nothing up front.  We get paid as a percentage of your settlement. When you win we win.
